Mount Buffalo is an all seasons park with so much to offer all of it visitors, whether they decide to visit during winter or come in the summer months, there is always an array of amazing things to see and do while you are here. With its imposing granite tors, cascading waterfalls, towering snow gums, wildflower covered mountains, sheer cliffs and hectare upon hectare of beautiful countryside to explore, Mount Buffalo, in the Snowy Mountains is a captivating place.

During the winter months when the snow falls upon the mountain people travel from all around to experience the world class skiing that Mount Buffalo has to offer. It is a winter wonderland that is perfect for the person who is just starting out for the first time on skiis as well as for the advanced skier who is looking to perfect their skills.

With everything from cross country skiing, tobogganing, snow shoeing tours, scenic chair lift rides and great play areas for the little ones, everyone will enjoy their time on the mountain. There is around 14km of groomed cross country trails for the skiers to embark upon and yet a further 20km of unmarked trails where the more experience skiers can go exploring the back country. Dingo Dell and Cresta Valley cater for all skiing levels, with a range of downhill slopes for everyone starting from beginners through to the more advanced!

Accommodation comes in all shapes and sizes from a beautiful chalet on the mountain, budget style accommodation that is based at the foot of the ski slopes with both motel and lodge rooms available or you can book yourself into a guesthouse or camp alongside Lake Catani for a couple of nights.

Summer brings new life to Mount Buffalo with all sorts of wildlife and plant life merging from the ground. The mountains become covered in amazing brightly coloured wildflowers, animals scurry across the mountain tops for food and as you embark on the many walking trails throughout the area you can witness some spectacular sights. With breathtaking lookouts, cascading waterfalls and an array of outdoor activities for the young and the young at heart you can look forward to an amazing time in the summer months at Mount Buffalo. You may also like to go swimming or canoeing on Lake Catani or perhaps try your hand at some horse riding, hang gliding, mountain biking, abseiling or bushwalking for some really exciting.

Mount Buffalo is just 320km north east of Melbourne as you travel along the Hume Highway and Great Alpine Road to your destination. It will take you around 4 hours to get there and you must not forget your tyre chains and fit them to your car whenever directed as you travel along the sealed roads.
